March 3rd, 2017 - Vietnam Tour

Left the ship in Hong Kong and took a taxi to the airport to catch the
flight to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. The air was cooler today in Hong
Kong, but I knew I was heading to 90+ days, so it felt good. Spent most of
the day at airports and flying.

Got my Vietnam Visa, then went to another line to go through immigration and
customs. Finally made it out of the airport and we were met by our driver
Mr. Sy and our guide Thanh.

Headed to the hotel and discovered a big festival was occurring and streets
were closed, but we made it to the hotel without incident. There was music
and a lot of people out for the evening having a good time.

Got checked into the hotel and went over to the Saigon Skydeck in the 68
story Bitexco Financial Tower. The building was inspired the lotus,
Vietnam's national flower. A fast elevator ride to the 49th floor and one
steps off to 360 views of the city. I have been here a couple of times
before, but always during the day. The views at night were spectacular, it
certainly does not look like the Vietnam we saw on the evening news growing
up.
