After a drive through the city I visited the Kek Lok Si Temple - the largest
Chinese Buddhist Temple in Malaysia. The views along the climb up were nice
- I am sure on a clear day, they would have been outstanding.
Next stop was Penang Hill. This is a 1,440 acre hill area with an elevation
of more than 2,000 feet above sea level. The ride up on the funicular train
was a great way to get up the hill.
The gardens and flowers at both places were beautiful.
Water is so plentiful here that she pays about $2.00 every two months for
water (this with 2-3 showers a day for a two person household). A far cry
from what we pay in Colorado.
Another beautiful place with friendly people. As I head south the ports keep
getting better!
