two weeks. She is a nurse, and provides in home care on the island. Usually
she does not get home until 7-7:30 when she works. Remembering what it was
like having to juggle kids, work and meals, before she left for work I told
her I was going to prepare their dinner, and to let me know when she got
home. It was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed making it easier for her when
she got home after that first day back on the job. Of course, I over did it
and they had enough for two days.
Well today Karine and her son Axel came bearing gifts in kind. The main dish
was an Asian dish with vegetables and noodles, served with coconut bread
that was simply delicious. And there were several local deserts (like I
really need more than one). One was really interesting; I believe it was
raw fish that had been sweetened in coconut milk or cream. It was enough
food that I will be set for tomorrow too!
