February 3rd - Mumbai, India

Today was a very busy day - talk about sensory overload - truly an amazing
place.

Our tour was led by Yael Jhirad - a wonderful lady who happened to be
celebrating her birthday today!

The "must see "places seen: The Gateway of India, Regal Circle and the
heritage buildings there, the Kala Ghoda Art Precinct, Bombay University,
Victoria Terminus, Marine Drive and Chowpatty Beach, Mani Bhavan - home of
Ghandhi and the Dhobi Ghat (the famous laundry) and, of course, the
markets.

We were fortunate to enjoy a traditional Indian lunch - do not know some of
the things I ate - but I put on my adventure hat and dove in.

Supposedly if you feed a cow, it will bring you good fortune.

The population of this tiny island state is 18 million (if you include the
undocumented that total rises to 21 million). There are taxis everywhere -
there are about 70,000, but only 50,000 are on the road since they are
replacing the old taxis. They are adding approximately 300 cars to the city
every day!

There are so many people coming into the city to work each day that they run
on three shifts (9-5, 10-6 and 11-7), so the streets and train system can
handle the influx of people.

The biggest accomplishment today was crossing the street, truly a leap of
faith.
