The captain made a special announcement that we might want to come take a
look outside as we passed through the straits. The ship came to a crawl as
we headed through some of the most beautiful waters I have ever seen. An
added bonus was that we also got to enjoy all of this with a beautiful
sunset!
The next morning I was on the treadmill when a "fire" erupted in the gym. I
was impressed with how efficiently they dealt with all the "wounded" and the
efforts by all involved to coordinate a safe evacuation. Unlike the Costa,
even the captain made an appearance to see what was going on. The only ones
I felt sorry for were the ones who had to be "victims", as they actually got
strapped in the gurneys with neck braces and told to get back down if they
started to get up - they would not have won academy awards for their
performances as the injured. Luckily, the rescue teams executed an
outstanding performance.
