I hosted a dinner last night. Yes, I actually cooked, in fact I was offered
a sponsorship if I wanted to open a restaurant here. Everyone had a good
time and enjoyed the food (no leftovers except for ice cream). It is
interesting shopping here, you have to go to multiple places to find your
ingredients, and I have found it is best to shop early in the morning before
supplies are depleted. They wanted to know where I had found the fresh
basil.
Before the dinner, I made an extra batch of Bruschetta and took it over to
Leon and his staff at his restaurant "Le Sud". I'll bet this is the first
time someone served them in their own restaurant. It was a treat to see how
surprised they were.
I have some friends who are real foodies. They even take pictures of menus and
the dishes. Brad and Gloria - this is for you!
