Sailing from our last port in Asia, we arrived in Darwin, Australia. Darwin
is located in the tropical part of Australia, at the tip of the Northern
Territory.
Enjoyed a noontime sail in and headed out to explore the city.
Walked through the town to the George Brown Darwin Botanical Gardens. The
gardens were started in the 1870s and today encompass more than 100 acres.
Spent the afternoon admiring all the plants, flowers and wildlife at this
beautiful garden.
The people here were so friendly - anytime you pulled out a map, someone
would stop and inquire if we needed any help or directions - very nice.
Ended the day back on the ship with a "Aussie Beach BBQ" and listened to the
haunting and enchanting sounds of Stephen Kent playing the Didgeridoo.
Looking forward to three days at sea and in the sun as we head for Port
Douglas, Australia.
