is really a pretty ship. I stood on my patio and watched as she skirted the
reefs, then crossed it as she headed for Cook's Bay. It is really something
to see these huge vessels maneuver through narrow passages.
Then it was out for my walk. I decided to take a small camera along to get
some close up shots as the ship was dropping anchor and positioning. I
climbed out on some rocks to get a better and unobstructed shot - not to
smart - lost my balance and fell into the water. The only thing bruised was
my ego. However, I had the camera in my hand and it got wet, I think it has
taken its last photo. (By the way, if something had happened, I was carrying
ID and contact information for my neighbors.)
This is the ship I came in on in January. It seems hard to believe that it
has been nine weeks since this ship was last here and left without me.
As I was waiting to watch the Rotterdam sail on to Rangiroa I got to see the
Hanseatic, an Expedition Cruise Ship as it was leaving (it had been in
Opunohu Bay) headed for Tahiti. It was a good day for the island of Moorea.
Very busy.
JIII left Denver this morning and arrives in Tahiti tonight. He will spend
the night at a hotel then take the ferry over in the morning. I am looking
forward to spending my last week here with him.
