March 23rd - Siem Reap, Cambodia

Had an early breakfast at the hotel and we were off to start our exploration
of the ancient ruins in Angkor Thom, the ancient capital of the Khmer Empire
from 802 to 1432. The remains of the city occupy 77 square miles and are
located in dense jungle. Some refer to this area as the eighth wonder of the
world.
Angkor contains about 70 temples, tombs and other buildings, including
Angkor Wat, the world's largest religious complex.

Spent most of a very hot and humid day exploring the incredible ruins,
stopping for a traditional lunch with views of the park - and cool air!

Stopped for shopping in Siem Reap , then headed over to the airport to begin
our long wait for our flight to Ho Chi Minh (Saigon). Our flight was delayed
twice, finally leaving after enjoying an extra three hours in the airport!
Very long, but memorable day.
