Today was spent in Sicily, a new place for me and somewhere I can imagine
spending a month or two.
The first stop was to Taormina, 700 feet above the beautiful Bay of Naxos. I
visited the Greco-Roman theater and then spent the rest of the morning
walking and window-shopping along the Corso Umberto. Made a stop at a café
to be "Italian" for some people-watching with a glass of wine and plate of
cheese.
Then it was time for the drive up the mountain to Crateri Silvestri, a
secondary crater on the slopes of the Mt. Etna volcano which is still quite
active, as evidenced by the ash in the towns below. The views were
breathtaking.
