January 23rd - Suez Canal

We reached the Suez early this morning. I was out on deck before sunrise,
but to no avail, the fog was so thick you could not see the end of the ship.
I finally got a view of the canal as the fog started dissipating
mid-morning. After we were about 1/3 through the canal we were put in a
holding canal for 6-7 hours to give way for traffic coming north. We were
told there may be another convoy heading north, so not sure when we will
make it through.

The security was tight - all the fire hoses were out and ready on the decks.

I will be going through the canal again in April and hopefully the weather
conditions will be better.

Looking forward to a sunny day roasting in the sun over the next few days.
