was another great day for seeing the sights.
The day began with a beautiful sunrise as we sailed into Halifax this
morning.
First stop was the "Halifax Citadel National Historic Site".
Next we took a scenic drive out to Peggy's Cove "the world's most
photographed fishing village". It was fascinating to see the huge rocks left
from the last glacier age as if they were mere pebbles. Along the way I
captured a shot of a someone's idea of a "rock garden".
Next up was the Fairview Lawn Cemetery where 121 victims of the Titanic
disaster are buried.
Last stop of the day was the Public Gardens - again I had to restrain myself
- I had difficulty taking it all in. Thank goodness for digital cameras.
Our guide regaled us with so much information and history about Halifax and
the surrounding area, his pride of heritage was very evident.
A really great day. If not for the harsh winter weather, I could live here!
