I flew into Boston and headed up to Maine for the "Blake Family Reunion".
This was the 38th year, and in all of that time it has only rained once for
this annual event, these folks must be living right. There were four
generations represented. The main course was (no surprise) lobster. I have
acquired a new passion for lobster since tasting it fresh from the Maine
waters, and discovering that it is highly nutritious and a dieter's dream,
being low in fat, calories and cholesterol (besides tasting so good).
It is always nice to stay with Sean and Lindsay and their family. Sean had
celebrated his 50th birthday the prior week, but he looked okay.
Sunday was to be a barbeque around Charlie and Alison's pool, they must not
be living under the same stars, it rained all day. Still we enjoyed great
company and food, it always seems to be about food when I come to Maine (I
may have to stagger my future visits). I am planning on being up here again
in mid-August to stay on Monhegan Island, so I have some time to prepare.
We took our time on the trip back down to Boston and stopped at the Rachel
Carson National Wildlife Reserve for a beautiful walk, then of course, we
had to stop at Warren's Lobster House in Kittery for lunch.
Got back on track and hit the gym this morning.
