Invergordon, Scotland, UK

Well, yesterday's sun was just a tease. It is another damp gray day here in Scotland. The clouds did not even open up to give us a peak.

In my previous visits to Scotland I had not visited Loch Ness, so today I remedied that and headed out to Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle. Loch Ness is a massive expanse of still water surrounded by lush green hills. What is lurking beneath  Loch Ness has been the subject of intense speculation, the mystery was not solved today,  no Nessie sightings. The Urquhart Castle ruins sit beside Loch Ness. It was once one of Scotlands's largest castles. The present ruins date from the 13th to 16th centuries, and were built on a fort from the 4th century.

Invergordon is as far north as Alaska and Moscow, but has a much milder climate with very little snow.

The Princess Regal with its' 3,000+ passengers (about ten times the size of our ship) was also in port today. In addition to numerous bus tours, this was a busy place today. Again, another well versed and entertaining tour guide, who even wore his kilt and sang numerous folk songs.
