Upon arrival to Oslo this morning I headed through the city to visit the
Viking Ship Museum and a museum that houses Kon Tiki (this made me
"homesick" for Moorea, French Polynesia).
Then went to Vigeland Park - this amazing place has the world's largest
collection of sculptures executed by one single artist - Gustav Vigeland
(1869-1942). What a treat to wander and admire the art in this beautiful
park!
Came back to the ship for a light lunch before heading back out to climb up
to the Alershus fortress, begun in 1299, it has excellent views over
Osloforden. Next to the fortress sits eight chairs to memorialize the
Norwegian Jews lost during World War II.
Rain and storms are predicted for Oslo tomorrow - the bad weather still
can't seem to find the ship, sunshine predicted for Sweden.
