First stop today was to a market in Margao, Goa's second largest city and
the state's commercial capital. I loved watching everyone buying and
selling, but especially the fish mongers cleaning and selling their fish.
Needless to say, my shoes needed a thorough washing after sloshing around in
fish water and guts.
Made a stop at a resort for a cold soda and a little respite from all of the
brownish-red dust that was covering everything. The grounds and flowers were
very pretty.
What port stop would be complete without a visit to a temple or church....so
I visited the Nossa Senhora dos Remedies church (Our Ladies of Cures) on a
hill in Quelim. Legend has it that if you stay in or near this church after
dark you will disappear. Our guide swore this was true.
Headed back to the ship early today since all aboard was 2:30.
