April 19th - Newport Mansions

Spent a wonderful day in Newport (received a day pass from the Jailhouse Inn
where I am currently residing, made it back for the bed-check, so all is
well).

Started the day exploring The Elms and The Breakers, two of the best of the
"Grand Ladies". Amazing, makes one feel like they are in Europe exploring a
grand palace.

Next stop was the Inn at Castle Hill. I was advised to try a Dark and
Stormy, with hesitation, I got one. It is a combination of ginger beer and
dark rum, I am not a fan of beer, it was very good - however, there is no
way I could ever drink more than one of these, quite strong.

In the afternoon we took a stroll around the marina at Newport - got to see
the second largest sailing yacht in the world. When catching sight of the
Athena you knew it was special.

Went down to the harbor for dinner again and enjoyed a fabulous meal, in a
lovely setting with great service. Walked back to the hotel/jail, not far
enough to walk off the great meal. next day will definitely include lighter
fare on the menu.
