card does not work at Bank de Polynesie or Socredo Bank. If you remember
from an earlier post this is my first experience using one, other than my
one practice run in Denver.
What a great invention, you put in a card, type in a code, and like magic,
money spits out. I feel like I am winning a game, not sure what or when I
played, but I still get the prize. And the money looks more like play money;
it is so colorful and pretty.
The money used here is the French Pacific franc. The CPF franc has been tied
to the euro since 1999, on a fixed parity basis. A friend said he had seen
it written as CFP and XPF and wondered what the difference was. They both
stand for the same thing, CFP is an abbreviation for "cour de franc
Pacifique", and XPF is "comptoirs francais du Pacifique franc".
If only it did not affect my bank account balance; now that would really be
a win!
