then went over to the spa, so far, so good. When I was done there it was
still cloudy, so I decided to do some shopping.
With all the chatter about the pareos I decided I probably needed to buy
some more. I can always figure out what to do with too many, but if I do not
have enough, when I get home I will be in trouble.
The first stop was HOA, a boutique that has jewelry, art and some of the
prettiest (to me) pareos. This also happens to be where I met the owner who
came from Philadelphia. He has not been back to the mainland since 68, and
his last visit to the US was in 73 in Hawaii. Before settling down in French
Polynesia, he also spent some years in Micro-Indonesia. Joe was great to
talk to and spend time with. I am going by tomorrow to pick-up a novel he
has written that he is going to let me read. He has also invited my son and
I over next week. It will be lovely spending time with American speaking
hosts.
Status of the baby chicks, originally there were five, yesterday there were
three, today there were only two - so sad.
As I write this, still no sunshine - but also no rain. I think this is the
first day since I arrived in Moorea in January that I have not had on a
swimsuit - Yikes!
