March 14th - Baby Chicks

For all of yesterday's gray, dull skies - we were treated to a beautiful
sunset last night.

I met an interesting man today. When I commented on how good his English
was, he fessed up and told me he was born and raised in Philadelphia. He
came here in the 70s, and has never left paradise. He doesn't visit the US
often, mainly because he does not like the long flights.

We started talking about what it was like when he first came here in the
70s, and what the different islands were like when I first came here in the
90s.

He believes they have as many tourists today, but of a different kind. They
come in on ships and stay for only a day, instead of flying in and staying
at a resort for several days. Hence, they don't spend as much time wandering
around through the shops (and spending money). It was fun reminiscing about
the different resorts that have come and gone and changes on the islands.

Just a little before I was coming in to post my blog, I had visitors in my
yard. A Momma hen and her baby chicks!

And lastly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my baby brother Nick who is 43 today!
