February 21st - Glowing Today

My grandmother was known as Mommy Ruth (or GoGo by the Lind family because
she was always going somewhere), and even my friends called her this.

We loved to go over to her house because she kept her refrigerator stocked
with boxes of Hershey Bars, root beer and Nehi soda (grape, orange and
cherry). I don't recall that there was ever a limit on how many and we did
not have to ask. It was there for the grandchildren.

When I was a growing up I would go over to my grandparents' house to play
tennis with a cousin or friend. We would come inside and if she was home she
would ask how it was. Once I described the heat in what she considered an
unladylike manner (I used the word "sweat"). And quite seriously her reply
was - no, no dear.

Animals Sweat
Men Perspire
And ladies become all aglow

So how hot was it today?

I was really glowing!

  2. This made me laugh. Next time I am done running, I will be glowing. Not sweating or perspiring. :-)
